Central Iowa APICS is offering Part one of two of the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) course. The program is in-depth education for individuals in the operations management profession who wish to improve their knowledge of production and inventory management. The APICS CPIM curriculum concentrates on tools, techniques, and knowledge for production and inventory management

 

This is an introductory course for production and inventory management personnel and CPIM candidates. This course provides basic definitions and concepts for planning and controlling the flow of materials into, though, and out of an organization. It explains fundamental relationships among the activities that occur in the supply chain from suppliers to customers. In addition, the course addresses types of manufacturing systems, forecasting, master planning, material requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, purchasing, inventory management, distribution, quality management, and Just-in-Time manufacturing.

  1. Business-wide Conceptsfundamentals, operating environments, financial fundamentals, enterprise resources planning, lean, quality fundamentals, and theory of constraints.

  3. Demand Management
    This section covers sources of demand for goods and services, including a basic understanding of
  4. markets, voice of the customer and an overview of demand planning.
  5. Transformation of Demand into Supply
    This section includes the design of products and services, capacity management, planning,
  6. execution and control, and performance measurements.

This class is the first part of the CPIM Certification process.

Testing is not required but strongly encouraged at the end of the class.

The class will meet starting on January 22, 2019 for seven 3-hour sessions from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.
